The West Midlands Regional Ale, Cider and Perry awards will be held at the Bartons Arms in Aston on December 29th 2012. This is a great opportunuty to meet some of the West Midlands producers and have a few pints of award winning ales!
We’ll be running a coach down to Aston, leaving Burton around 10:30. Lunch will be provided. Please use the contact form on the front page of the website or drop May Arthur an email so we can get numbers for the meeting and for the coach.
Quick last minute update to the Derby Pubs tour happening this Friday. We will be gathering at the Alexandra and leaving for the Exeter Arms at 7:30. This is in line with the announcement by the Social Sec.
The original post has details of the locations. Sorry for the confusion.
The tentative list for the Derby pub tour is as follows. Remember that we’ll be meeting at the Alexandra around 7:30, moving on after a (slow) first drink. Following that, we plan on visiting: The Exeter Arms, The Peacock, The Furnace and the Five Lamps.
If you’re joining us later, drop us an email (or use the contact form on the home page) and we’ll send you mobile numbers. As usual, please either email the Chair, or the Social Sec to let us know you’re coming otherwise we won’t know to wait for you!
UPDATE: We will be meeting at the Alexandra and leaving for the Exeter around 7:30pm. If you can’t make it until 7:30-8pm ish, come and meet us at the Exeter. Sorry for the confusion.
It’s been a busy week for the campaign with the Beer Tax Escalator debate hitting the house of Commons, and the Spring Beer Festival starting to take shape.
No rest for the wicked though, as this coming week sees both our November Branch Meeting (Wednesday 7th November) at the National Brewery Centre’s Academia room (ask at the Bar), and also our November Social on Friday November 9th!
For this month’s social on Friday we’ll be heading up to Derby (please make your own way using public transport), to do a bit of a walking tour of some of Derby’s best pubs. Don’t miss out on a great opportunity to find some gems. We’re meeting at the Alexandra (near to the station) around 7:30pm.
Hope to see you there!
