May 2015 Bike Ride

Friday 01st May. Meet at the Duke of York, Victoria Street, Burton at 7:00pm. Cycling along the A511 to Horninglow and up Field Lane to Anslow, stop at the Bell, Anslow. Then along Hopley Road to the Acorn at Rough Hayes. From  the Acorn we then go along the B5017 to the New Inn island to turn left then left again into Rangemore village, the Rangemore Club is on the right hand side for sandwiches & chips at £3.50 each person at 10:00 p.m. please let me know if you are coming to oder the right amount of food. Do take the opportunity to do some beer scoring as well.

Upcoming Beer Festival Planning Meeting

Planning for the 2014 Burton Festival is well underway! The next planning meeting to (informally!) discuss Festival matters is happening on Tuesday 14th January 2014 at the Burton Old Cottage at 8pm.

Getting involved in the Festival is a great way to support your branch, meet people and learn a thing or two about our favourite drink! All members welcome, all help appreciated!

Have your say for the 2015 Good Beer Guide

Discussion on the 2015 GBG short-list will be an important agenda item at the Branch meeting tomorrow, Tuesday 7th January at the Old Cottage Tavern, Burton , commencing at 8pm.  All Branch members are encouraged to attend this meeting.

The final decision meeting to agree the 2015 GBG submissions will be held on Tuesday 25th February at the Burton Bridge Inn, Burton, commencing at 8pm (in the upstairs meeting room).

The decision for inclusion or exclusion is largely based upon NBSS scores, meaning that it’s especially important to put your scores in!

December Branch Meeting at the Bull’s Head, Rosliston

December’s Branch meeting will be at the Bull’s Head, in Roslison on Wednesday December 3rd 2013. The committee will meet at 7:30pm followed by a Branch meeting at 8pm.

Branch meetings are a great opportunity to meet the committee running your Branch. Attending branch meetings is a good way to find out what’s happening in the area, but also gives you the chance to suggest Socials, Campaigning ideas or just about anything else.

Tower Brewery Social Coming Up!

Get excited for the Branch visit to the Tower Brewery coming up on the 29th November 2013.

Formerly a maltings for Bass & Co, the tower brewery has risen to success, winning lots of award for their Burton-centric beers. If you’ve not visited the Tower before this is an excellent opportunity to experience a very unique venue!
